This is a wonderful resource for anyone trying to teach their dog how to retrieve. This is a great exercise for not only the dog, but a great opportunity to build the relationship between dog and owner.

I have a problem with my little border collie (she is 18 months old). She is able to hold the metal dumbbell and pick it up from the floor when she is close to me, but if I throw it 5/6 metres from me she start to play with metal and pushing with front legs or using nose and absolutely she refuses to pick it up and retrieve...we are at this stage for a long time (two months) and we are not able to go forward. This problem occurs just with metal because if I use woodden dumbbell she has a really good and fast retrieve...
Could you please help us to solve this problem?
Thank you very much from Italy,
