Foundation Training for Down from Heel

Once my dog can offer a down from a stand, I put it together with my backwards heeling to get an offered down from motion. Even if I have put a cue to the down from stand, I will still do this without a cue and then add it again while in motion. I don’t let the dog offer the down from a forwards heel.
